Comments
Theater impresario Charles Frohman took out an injunction on this production, specifically the use of the character Sherlock Holmes in the show's advertising. Frohman claimed it infringed upon his rights as producer of a play called "Sherlock Holmes," written by William Gillette and Arthur Conan Doyle (which was not running at the same time). A court ruled Weber and Fields could continue to advertise their production using the lead character.
