Biography: Theodore Mann was born Theodore Goldman on May 13, 1924 in Brooklyn, New York. He served in the Army medical corps at Ford Ord in Monterey, California during World War II. He co-founded Circle in the Square Theatre in 1951, and established its theatre school ten years later. In 1953 he married soprano Patricia Brooks with whom he had two children: Andrew and Jonathan.

Other Awards: Received the Tao House Award from the Eugene O'Neill Foundation in 1999. Inducted into the American Theater Hall of Fame in 2009.
