Biography: T. Edward Hambleton graduated from Yale in 1934. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He married Caroline Hoysradt and then Merrell Hopkins. He had five children. He founded the Phoenix Theater with Norris Houghton in 1953 in a former Yiddish theater at Second Avenue and 12th Street in the East Village.
