Biography: Samuel "Biff" Liff was born on April 14, 1919 in Boston, Massachusetts to Morris Liff and Rose Liff. He studied theater at Carnegie Mellon University. He served as a captain in the United States Army in Chicago during World War II. He stage managed and was an associate producer on several Broadway shows. He then became the head of William Morris Agency's theater department in 1973. He managed many distinguished performers such as Julie Andrews, Chita Rivera, and Angela Lansbury. He served on the nominating committee of the Tony Awards. He married Arlene Liff.
