Lawrence Miller

Miller started out designing for New York stage productions and moved on to feature films and television, serving as art director for Martin Scorcese's "The King of Comedy." Among his credits as production designer were "The Flamingo Kid," "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," "Overboard," "Doc Hollywood" and "Desert Bloom."

A graduate of Carnegie Tech, Miller started out teaching stage and costume design at the College of William & Mary, the University of Alberta and Webster College. After seven years in academia, he moved to New York, where he worked on productions including "The Loves of Anatol," "Teaneck Tanzi," and "Catskills on Broadway." Some of his other stage productions included designs for the NYC Opera and the NYC Ballet as well as Liza Minnelli at Carnegie Hall.

More recently he launched Places Of Peace, and worked on designs for the Gandhi Peace Monument in Honolulu and proposals for the memorial at the World Trade Center.
