Description
Thomas W. Lamb (1909) and Erwin Rossbach (1914), architects. Originally designed and partially built in 1909 as a home for actor Butler Davenport's new stock company--until financial issues stalled the project. Completed in 1914 through support of the People's Pulpit and the International Bible Student's Association, who intended it to present Biblical films and religious lectures. In 1919, opened as a children's movie house. In 1921, began presenting legit productions. Closed in 1941. Razed in 1957.
