ABOUT THIS THEATRE
Description
One of two theatres thought to be in existence in New York in 1732. It may have been located within a tavern (established by Abraham Corbett) dating back to 1680. It is believed to have had only a brief life as a theatre, perhaps functioning solely during a conflict between two men over the governership, William Cosby and Rip Van Dam.
