Previously known as

Richmond Hill Theatre
Description
Converted from the mansion that had been Aaron Burr's country estate at time of his duel with Alexander Hamilton. In 1822, the lands became a summer resort. In 1831, the house was converted to the Richmond Hill theatre. The next year, it became the Italian Opera House. Its remote location proved an impediment and the floundering theatre was torn down in 1849.
