Comments
This play was originally titled Bodas de sangre in Spanish, when first produced in Madrid 1933. This title translates to Blood Wedding in English. For the the New York production, Blood Wedding was deemed a deterrent for ticket buyers, and Lorca changed the title to Bitter Oleander.
