Biography: Patricia Neway was born on September 30, 1919 in Brooklyn, New York. She studied at Notre Dame College and Mannes College of Music. She made her New York City Opera debut in 1951, and returned there for multiple performances as a principal singer through 1966. She married singer and vocal coach Morris Gesell and then married John Francis Byrne.
