Biography: Frances Tannehill was born in New York City, daughter of Frank Tannehill Jr., an actor and playwright. She married actor Alexander Clark in 1945, who she met during the Broadway revival of Counsellor-At-Law.

Trivia:
She was president of the Twelfth Night Club, Inc., the oldest extant club for women of the theatre in the U.S., since 1995.
