Biography: Donald Sinden was born on October 9, 1923 in Plymouth, England to Alfred Edward Sinden and Mabel Agnes. He was part of a company that entertained the armed forces in England during World War II. He trained for two terms at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art. He played various roles at the Royal Shakespeare Company including King Lear and Othello. He wrote two autobiographical works: "A Touch of the Memoirs" and "Laughter in the Second Act." He married actress Diana Mahony, with whom he had two children: actor Jeremy Sinden and West End producer Marc Sinden.
