Biography: Aaron J. Ruben was born on March 1, 1914 in Chicago, Illinois. He served in the army from 1941-1943 and then worked for studios and wrote for radio programs. He produced (and, at times, wrote and directed for) "The Andy Griffith Show" for its first five seasons. He married Sandy C. Rothblatt, with whom he had two children. He then married Maureen Arthur.
