ABOUT THIS THEATRE
Description
Built on the site of the former Olympia Theatre, which had been torn down in 1935 and replaced by a movie theatre, the Criterion. In 1989, it was remodeled to make room for a legit theatre. In 1991, it was leased to the Roundabout Theatre Company. But, in 1999, the building owners sent Roundabout packing, closing the theatre, and completely remodeling the space to accomodate an enormous Toys "R" Us store.
