Comments
Lady in the Dark was on hiatus from June 15, 1941 through September 1, 1941. There was a benefit performance for the Actor's Fund on June 15, 1941, as well as September 1, 1941 performance to benefit the Stage Relief Fund; neither are included in the performance count. During the production's summer hiatus, Rex O'Malley was announced to succeed Danny Kaye in the role of Russell Paxotn. By the end of the summer, O'Malley's contract had been cancelled and the role went to Erick Brotherson.
