Biography: Edmund Anthony Cutlar Purdom was born on December 19, 1924 in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, England. He joined the Northampton Repertory Company in 1946, and then joined the Royal Shakespeare Theatre at Stratford-upon-Avon for two seasons. He married Tita Philips, with whom he had two children -- Lilian and Marjana Ann. He then married Alicia Darr and then actress Linda Christian. His fourth marriage was to Vivienne Purdom.
