Biography: Samuel J. Friedman was a press agent that worked with performers such as Bette Davis, Jackie Gleason and Gypsy Rose Lee. He began his career working for the Shubert Organization on "You Never Know." He also did publicity for Playboy Enterprises and the United Artists film studio, promoting films such as "The Ten Commandments" and "West Side Story."

Trivia:
The Manhattan Theater Club renamed its Biltmore Theater after him. It is now the Samuel J. Friedman Theater.
