Biography: Carmen Capalbo was born on November 1, 1925 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He grew up performing in community theater and assistant directing. He served in the Army during World War II, earning a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. Capalbo briefly attended Yale School of Drama. He married ballet dancer Patricia McBride in 1950 with whom he had two children -- Marco and Carla.

Trivia:
His hobby was an expertise in stamps, particularly those issued by Great Britain during World War I. He was a member of the Royal Philatelic Society.
