Biography: Ethel Winter was born on June 18, 1924 in Wrentham, Massachusetts. She studied at Bennington College. She was an early ballet dancer with the Martha Graham Dance Company from the 1940s to the 1960s. She married Charles Hyman in 1950, and they had one child. She taught dance at the Juilliard School for 50 years.
